Analysis of Flow Behavior as Influenced by Reservoir with Flow Regularization

Understanding the behavior of reservoirs with flow regularization formed by hydroelectric power plants is essential for assessing water availability. The operationalization can be influenced both climatic characteristics and consequences resulting from human actions in basin. objective this study was to evaluate existing relationships between inflows outflows a reservoir, as well conventional streamflow gauge stations downstream dam. Also evaluated were trends minimum, average maximum flows, post-operation period, considering rainfall irrigation region. results indicated that reservoir strongly related inflows. Moreover, reduction also verified all variables analyzed outflows, dam, except station farthest which showed stationary behavior. reductions flows may almost three-fold increase area irrigated center pivot basin; however, same cannot said relation annual regime region, since it most evaluated. work demonstrates importance trend analysis over years order identify possible factors responsible their variability assist decision making regarding measures recovery preservation resources.
